TELEHEALTH INSTRUCTIONS & CONSENT

Sometimes it’s easier to get support without having to leave home. Telehealth gives you the option of meeting through a secure video call, so you can still have counselling that feels personal and connected, even when you’re not in the room.

On this page you’ll find answers to common questions about how online sessions work and what to expect. At the bottom, there’s a simple consent form so we can get started if Telehealth feels right for you.

Telehealth is the use of secure video or telephone technology to deliver counselling sessions.

What is Telehealth?

When you book an online session, you’ll receive a confirmation email and a reminder with your secure session link. At the time of your appointment, just click the link in your email or text and it will open in your web browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. There are no downloads, logins or special software needed. You may see a short waiting room screen until I join, and then we’ll be ready to start together. You can connect from a computer, tablet or smartphone as long as you have a steady internet connection.

If this feels new, don’t worry; it’s really simple to use, and I’ll guide you through it if you need help!

HOW DO I ACCESS MY SESSION?

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TELEHEALTH?

Life with kids and teens can be unpredictable, and sometimes even getting out the door feels like a challenge. Telehealth makes it possible to connect from the comfort of home without the rush of travel or the stress of rearranging everything else in your day. I have worked with parents who joined a session at the kitchen table while their toddler napped, and with teens who felt more at ease opening up from their own room.

Most importantly, Telehealth means support is always within reach. No matter what life throws at you, I will stop at nothing to make sure your family feels cared for and supported. Together, we can keep taking steps forward, right where you are.

Technology isn’t always perfect, and sometimes an internet connection can drop out or freeze. If that happens, we’ll simply pause and reconnect, or set up another time that works for you. The platform I use, Halaxy, is safe and secure, though like any online system it can never be guaranteed 100 percent risk-free. To make the most of your session, I encourage you to choose a quiet and private space where you feel comfortable to talk openly. And remember, if anything ever gets in the way, I’ll do everything I can to make sure you still feel supported.
