While my primary focus is on children, adolescents, and families, I also work with young adults depending on the individual need.

Sessions typically run for 50 minutes.

This varies depending on the individual and their goals. Some clients come for just a few sessions, while others engage longer term. We’ll work together to find what’s most helpful for you or your child.

I use a Rogerian eclectic approach, drawing from evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy, narrative therapy, and play-based techniques, tailored to the needs of each client.

Yes. Your privacy is important to me. I only share information if legally required, or if there are serious concerns about safety. I’m always happy to discuss confidentiality in more detail.

Yes. Lumi Counselling supports individuals and families who are self-managed or plan-managed under the NDIS.

Yes. I am not yet a registered NDIS provider, so I can only work with clients who are plan- or self-managed.

Once we confirm your plan type, I’ll provide invoices that you or your plan manager can submit for reimbursement.

Yes. Especially with younger children, parent involvement is an important part of the process. I’ll work with you to decide what level of involvement is most helpful.

In some cases, yes. Depending on the age of the child and the therapeutic goals, your presence may be encouraged, particularly in early sessions.

Yes. I’ll communicate regularly with parents to ensure we’re working together to support your child’s growth.

I work with children aged 5 and up, teens, and families. I also work with adults not part of a family-based approach.
For Parents

Standard session fees are $175 per 50 minute individual session. This is a flat fee (inclusive of GST).
There is an extra fee for in-home counselling sessions -
I do not yet offer Medicare rebates or bulk billing at this time, but I do work with NDIS participants who are plan- or self-managed.

Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer, and NDIS plan managers via invoice.

Yes.
- Full fee for same day cancellations or missed sessions- $75 fee for cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours
- No fee if you give more than 48 hours notice
